About
This track focuses on the relationship between architecture and the city, addressing architectural and urban design through a trans-scalar and multidisciplinary lens. It fosters critical dialogue between the tools of Italian and Milanese theoretical and design traditions and the most innovative international approaches. The design process engages the complex interplay between buildings, open spaces, and infrastructure, considering functional, formal, expressive, and constructive perspectives grounded in architectural thinking, sustainable development principles, and civil responsibility. Key topics include new patterns of urban settlement and development, emerging housing needs, provision of services and infrastructure, heritage conservation, and urban regeneration in diverse contexts - from Western Europe to emerging and Global South countries.
